Certainly not a new face to SSA, but in a new grade this year... Mrs. Louise Stinchcomb!
SSA has been blessed to have had Mrs. Stinchcomb as the first grade teacher for 28 years!! She has has taught countless students, has had the pleasure of watching them grow up and have families of their own, and now is blessed to teach their children! Those who know her, know that she has quite the soft spot and love for very young children... which is why we are all so thrilled that she will be teaching our TK class this year! Prior to coming to SSA she spent 8 years at Wesley United Methodist as a Preschool teacher and 2 years as a home daycare provider. Mrs. Stinchcomb is also very blessed to have 7 grand babies!!

Happy 4th of July
We are so excited to announce our new 6th grade teacher, Kendyl Fleury!
Read a note from Miss Fleury and leave her a comment to welcome her to SSA!
My name is Kendyl Fleury and I am so excited to join the Santa Sophia Community as the 6th Grade Homeroom, 6th,7th,& 8th Grade Social Studies and Science teacher! I grew up in Napa Valley, California, but moved away for college where I attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in History in 2018 and continued my higher education at SMU the following year, graduating with my Master of Education in December of 2019, as well as receiving a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from the state of Texas. After graduating, I moved to San Diego where I substitute taught in San Diego's Independent School District.
When it comes to teaching, I aspire to promote a classroom full of learners that are excited, loving, kind, and genuine individuals. I aim to create an academic environment where students can actively learn through hands-on activities, introspective study, and collaboration with others. I hope for students to come to class each day ready and excited to learn!
I cannot wait to meet everyone and am very excited for the upcoming school year!
All my best,
Ms. Fleury ... See MoreSee Less

Help us give a warm welcome to our new first grade teacher, Miss Olivia Donnelly (and her adorable puppy, Fiona!)!!
A note from Miss Donnelly:
Thank you for the warm welcome to Santa Sophia Academy! I will be the first grade teacher this coming school year. Since San Diego is my new home, I am particularly excited to be joining a strong faith-based community. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 2019, where I was a member of the Band of the Fighting Irish as a piccolo player. I earned my Master of Education in Elementary Education and Tennessee Credential from Vanderbilt University in June. As an educator, I am passionate about fostering an environment in which students can grow into inquisitive and conscientious global citizens. I am honored to have the privilege of cultivating future generations of lifelong learners.

We are excited to introduce you to our new 5th grade teacher, Miss Krisman! Help us welcome her into our SSA family!! Leave her a comment with a welcome message!! ❤️
Get to know Miss Krisman...
Hello! My name is Tiffany Krisman. I grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California and attended Catholic Schools from Kindergarten through High School. After graduating from high school, I moved down to San Diego to attend San Diego State University in pursuit of a Theatre Arts degree. After joining a freshman program that allowed me to volunteer as a tutor at a local middle school, I realized that my heart was actually in teaching and changed my major. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus in Theatre Arts Education and then went on to get my California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and also my Master of Arts in Teaching from SDSU. After a brief stint substituting in public schools, I realized what was missing for me was the Catholic communities that I associated with elementary education. I found my way into the Diocese and taught for two years at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School teaching a combined 3rd and 4th, and a combined 4th and 5th grade class before moving to St. Rita's School to teach 5th grade for 4 years, and then teaching Math to 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade. For the last 3 years I have also been a Diocesan Teacher Liaison, organizing and facilitating professional development for teachers across the diocese as well as leading professional learning communities in the diocese during distance learning.
As a teacher, my ultimate goal is to instill a love of learning in my students. I try to make education fun and relevant by incorporating more project-based and cooperative group learning assignments and tasks. I create in-depth interdisciplinary lessons that allow practice in multiple subject areas while learning in depth about one particular topic. My classroom is constantly filled with curiosity, conversation, and laughter. ... See MoreSee Less
